Movement Network Foundation and Move Industries Announce Completion of Operating Change for Movement Network

Movement Network Foundation (the “Foundation”), steward of the Movement Network, and Move Ind. Inc. (“Move Industries”), a core contributor of the Movement Network, today announced the successful completion of a major operating change for the Movement Network.

Move Industries

Move Industries is now officially the primary service provider and assumes primary operating responsibilities for the Movement Network, on behalf of the Foundation. This completes the transition process previously announced in May 2025.

As part of this change, key employees have been acquired by Move Industries and will continue to work on growing the Movement Network. This provides critical technical expertise and relationships while operating within a new and improved corporate structure, led by fresh leadership.

The Foundation and its independent Board of Directors (“Board”) continue to act as independent stewards of the network, while Move Industries serves as the Foundation’s primary service provider and is responsible for building, operating, and growing the ecosystem on behalf of the Foundation.

Leadership Team

The leadership team continues to evolve to best align with the vision and roadmap for Move Industries and the Movement Network. The executive team at Move Industries now includes:

  • Torab Torabi, CEO: Leads strategic vision and execution. Torabi is a Founding Member of Movement with deep expertise in crypto partnerships and decentralized networks. His background spans enterprise sales at Salesforce and Sensor Tower, as well as leadership roles at Marinade Finance, one of the leading DeFi protocols on Solana.

  • Dr. Young Yang Liauw, CTO: Drives technical innovation and network development. Liauw brings significant blockchain engineering expertise from his time at Aptos as Head of Move, along with his engineering leadership roles at Novi and Meta, where he worked on the Libra/Diem team.

  • Ali Sheikh, CSO: Oversees strategy, operations, and ecosystem growth. Sheikh brings strategic and financial expertise from his roles at Reciprocal Ventures, where he served as Venture Partner, and from past positions in engineering at Flexport, as well as investment banking at Morgan Stanley and corporate development at Cisco.

This leadership team is accountable for delivering the Movement Network’s technical and ecosystem roadmap.

Network Roadmap

With the completion of this operating conversion, Move Industries’ top priority is running and growing the Movement Network, on behalf of the Foundation. Over the next 12–18 months, Move Industries expects to prioritize:

  • Building on Movement’s successful transition to a fully sovereign Layer 1 blockchain (M1) with native $MOVE staking and Move 2.0 support. M1 delivers over 10,000+ TPS with sub-second finality and true decentralization through validator-based consensus.

  • Continuing network upgrades to improve performance, reliability, and operational resilience.

  • Expanding developer tooling and support, refining grant and incentive programs, and deepening collaborations with infrastructure providers and ecosystem projects.

  • Growing the ecosystem through strategic initiatives.

These efforts build on recent achievements such as the recently announced Move Alliance program designed to accelerate the adoption of Move-based development across the blockchain industry.

“This news marks a new chapter for Movement as we build the People’s Chain, a blockchain built for and by its community,” said Torab Torabi, CEO, Move Industries. “I’m grateful to our team for their relentless work to get us here and to our Movement community for staying with us through this journey. Now we execute: Support builders and bring the MOVE language to the world.”

The Board of the Movement Network Foundation said: “Over the last several months, the Foundation’s responsibility has been to stabilize the Movement Network infrastructure. We are confident that we have found a capable and accountable operating partner in Move Industries. With the completion of this milestone, the Movement Network is favorably positioned for a new chapter under the leadership of Torab and the Move Industries team.”

Governance Updates

The Foundation is pleased to share that it has concluded several legacy matters. Further governance improvements are underway and are expected to build on this new phase with Move Industries. The Foundation plans to release more details about these governance enhancements in the near future.
